Is it cheaper to charge an electric vehicle than buy gas?

Gasoline vs Electric

Viettel of Vietnam's Facial Recognition Technology Surprises the World.

NIST announced Viettel Solutions' facial recognition solution ranked 30th out of 302 in the solution and passed the FRVT 1:N review about "looking for one of many faces". This news has put Vietnam on the world map of 5G technology. Not stopping there, Viettel is considering 6G and the project of flying into space.

What is NIST? It is the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This agency of cybersecurity framework addresses the lack of standards when it comes to cybersecurity and provides a uniform set of rules, guidelines, and standards for organizations to use across industries.

Viettel has accomplished and succeeded in solving this complex task. Identifying an individual in a sea of people on the streets in less than a second is not an easy task - not only degree of accuracy but also the shortest amount of time it takes to identify the object target.

Israel, China, and other developed countries have been on board Facial Recognition Technology and improved its precision up to 99% of accurate identification without having that person realize.

Our congratulation to Viettel of Vietnam. It has joined a few who have mastered this technology. The application of this technology remains controversial, and it probably varies from each country.

Smart VinFast Electric-Only-Cars, VF e35 & VF e36 in LAAS - Nov. 17, 2021!

While other cars are still producing new gas and cylinder-powered hybrid cars in 2022 such as KIA, BMW, and other well-known car companies, VinFast has begun to only produce electric cars, which is very convenient because it is a new company Start-up. Therefore, VinFast should seize this opportunity to try to make electric cars more interesting and better. I believe you can and do it well to succeed in the US, Canadian, and continental European markets because you have proven to the world your determination and speed of execution with thoughtful preparation. - from building the most modern car factory in the world to the very short time it took to complete two very beautiful electric models VF e35 and VF e36 and exhibiting right here in the US in Los Angeles. This is a golden opportunity for Vietnamese people and the country to escape poverty and be on par with other developed countries. Congratulations VinFast. Vietnam fighting. If we unite, respect, and help each other, we all win and enjoy a happy life.

VinFast will start to take in orders for VF e35 and VF e36 cars, and deliver them by the end of 2022! With innovative marketing like offering solutions to electric power by renting batteries to Artificial Intelligent assist driver software to enhance safety, entertain, and provide comfort and ease of use besides excellent customer services, I strongly believe VinFast will conquer the heart and minds of million Vietnamese ex-pats oversea - and that not including citizens of other countries in the world.

If VinFast's goal is to replace fossil fuel running cars with fully electric ones by making the price more affordable for the mass, I strongly believe that it will definitely succeed. Today, I drove to see them up close at the Los Angeles Auto Show - Nov. 21st, 2021, and I think they are the SUV stars of the show!

China and the Plan to Occupy Vietnam by Peaceful Development?

[ Lính bộ đội pay tribute to their fallen comrades at Vi Xuyen battle]

[Fallen soldiers at the National Cemetary}

Vietnamese soldiers, Bo Doi Vietnam, sacrifice their lives and blood to keep every inch of their fatherland, fighting against the Chinese greedy PLA. An example of the bloody battle at Vi Xuyen (Battle of Laoshan) near China-Vietnam's border from April 1984 to Oct. 1989 has proven it. But sadly, it was recently learned that China has owned 168 thousand hectares of land in Vietnam! The land near the border and coastal areas of Vietnam are all vital and strategic for Vietnam's national security. How and Why did it happen, and what is the Vietnamese government going to do about it? What is the Minister of Trade and Investment going to do about it? Does he have any suggestions or recommendations for this urgent national security matter?

[Northern border between Vietnam & China - Vietnam's side where land rich in 'rare earth' minerals]

The 168 thousand hectares of land include important areas near the border and coastal vicinity. Those areas of Cao Bang, Lang Son, and nearby the border have important natural resources that affect the national security of Vietnam - The "Rare Earth" materials found in the soil in those areas! Vietnam is known to occupy about 30% of 'rare earth' materials in the world. They are necessary for the development of advanced weapons and other technology areas. Will Chinese businessmen find a way to extract this material and ship it back to their homeland? This will cause loss and environmental pollution in the areas.

Coastal areas like Danang, Chinese have hiddenly owned lands considered as strategic locations for Vietnam national security. The viewings of the entire East Seas can be done from here so as its military locations along the coast.

How can China accomplish plan to acquire Vietnamese land which 'lính bộ đội' - Vietnamese soldiers - have fought hard and sacrifice their lives to keep every "inch" and prevent it falling into the hand of the hostile and manipulative northern neighbor? Are they using their money to buy out Vietnamese nationals to do their dirty job? I will let the people of Vietnam answer this question.

Rivian, an electric car maker in the US, just went IPO successfully. It makes Rivian the second most valuable U.S automaker after Tesla. On the first day at IPO, its price was initially $57 to $62 but was jacked up to $78 a share - sold 153 million shares to raise $11.9 billion - a record just behind Facebook @ $16 billion USD. On the second day, its price appreciated to another 27% gain which is around $100 plus. As you can see, VinFast is in the right place at the right time! Can you imagine this new electric vehicle startup, Rivian, has only produced a few hundred cars and has been losing money, now after IPO it has a $100 billion Market Cap!

Rivian has been making electric pick-up trucks and SUV types of vehicles.

Viettel & Samsung Cooperation!, Vietnam

Strategic cooperation between Samsung (Vina) and Viettel of Vietnam in October of this year - 2021 will primarily accelerate digital conversion technology in business and other areas of society. Each company has its own strength, and together they can get more things done in the digital era of Industry 4.0 that includes IoT (Internet of Things). It is about promoting digital transformation in which 5G telecommunication equipment and Information Technology solutions are involved to completely achieve a  digital economy by a designated time frame.

Recently, Viettel has achieved significant progress in 5G speed - 4.7 Gb/sec! - the fastest in the world. Viettel owns and supplies both hardware and software of 5G broadcasting equipment. Whereas Samsung has a broad range portfolio of innovation in mobile devices and smart consumer electronics.

Thus, one can see there have been cooperations between these two companies to optimize and popularize 5G devices to Vietnamese mobile users and smart consumer electronic devices that Samsung manufactures. This perhaps is one of Samsung's primary interests.

The successful development of 5G by Viettel will help Vietnam's economy move forward easily and at a faster pace. Recent cooperation between a Vietnamese company and one of Singapore's in building SEA's first smart superport at Vinh Phuc Logistics Center. This will help cut the cost of shipping and thus increase Vietnam's export competitiveness.

Vietnam Today and Its Policy with Respect to Climate Change.

According to the Vietnam Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, at COP26 of Climate Change Conference taking place in Glasgow, Scotland - He stated that "Vietnam pursues a diplomatic strategy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multi-lateralization, and proactive integration, being a good friend, reliable partner, and responsible member of the international community. "

The Prime Minister of Vietnam said that with regard to the East Sea issue, "Vietnam expressed its view that all disputes must be resolved by measures of peace as well as ensuring security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the East Sea ". Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed that ASEAN friends, as well as international friends, support Vietnam's proposal that Global peace, development, and cooperation is an irreversible trend and Vietnam will and continue to persistently pursue this path."

When it comes to human rights, Prime Minister Pham said, "The biggest human rights issue is how to provide food and clothing for 100 million people, leaving no one hungry. When dealing with difficulties, Nobody should be left behind. Bringing food and warm clothes to the people is our biggest goal besides that we do not sacrifice progress, social justice, or social security and sacrifice the clean environment to pursue growth."

"We never give in to any enemy and are never bewildered or discouraged by any difficulty," he emphasized."The green growth pursued by the bank is in line with the general trend as well as the policy of Vietnam," Mr. Pham Minh Chinh stated, "but must ensure fairness and justice in developing a "green" economy to adapt to climate change. After Vietnam has gone through a long time of war, we had to start our economy from scratch, and the socio-economic conditions are still difficult. Thus the access to this economic transition is slower than in many other countries, especially when regarding Vietnam's industry," Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh added.

Our commitment to a green economy and sustainability deserves the West's cooperation in helping and training our staff. Without your cooperation in generating green energy like Wind and Solar, we have to rely on China's burning coal to generate power to run the economy. This is going against what we are here for - to stop climate change. In addition, the Prime minister promised to reduce Methane waste by 30% by 2030  when developed countries share their know-how and cooperate with Vietnam in this endeavor.

Vietnam - Preparing for a Society of E-vehicles

Charging stations are installed in parking areas in front of the malls - across the country and also apartment areas.

Vinfast has been installing its electric vehicle charging stations across the country, especially at locations where apartments are located and shopping malls' parking structures according to research by several prestigious organizations. This is the company's strategy to cover charging stations in urban areas. There have been more than 8,100 charging ports for electric cars and motorbikes in 60 provinces and cities.

Vinfast's proposal to landowners of those apartments is so attractive that they can't refuse: Not only they don't have to pay for the installation of these charging stations, but also receive a certain percentage of income from electric vehicle charging revenue like 10 percent for as long as those charging stations in parking areas operating as expected. Furthermore, apartment landowners like the idea of having electric vehicle charging stations in their parking structures because they really modernize their environment and increase their property value.

There have been 25,000 orders for the Vinfast electric car model - VF e34 - which is expected to be delivered to customers by November of this year. Vinfast has been preparing an environment for this massive delivery where its customers do not have to worry about finding places to charge their e-cars.

VF e34 on the streets of Hanoi

Recently, the Ministry of Finance has officially proposed a policy to reduce the registration fee of electric cars by 50% compared to petrol cars [cars run by fossil fuel] with the same number of seats within the next 5 years.

Vietnam - right on the side with Europe - is heading toward an era of "green" modernized society in which people drive their e- vehicles everywhere.

 Vietnamese vs. Chinese

Quang Linh's Team is helping Angolan villagers to grow veggies

Even though Vietnamese and Chinese are neighbors and sharing similar cultures, but they are quite different - at least in terms of food, motive, and compassion.

Vietnamese food and the way Vietnamese people prepare them are healthier, have more veggies and herbs, and are less greasy than Chinese. In other words, Vietnamese food is tastier and better for your health. They are rich and have many varied dishes. Thanks to the cuisines from the three regions - North, Central, and South - delicious and very differently prepared.

Vietnamese government and military personnel are caring more about their people. Despite the two countries adopting the One Party system under Communist state, Vietnam practices it differently than its counterpart, China. One recent salient example is how each government behaves in dealing with COVID. CCP quarantined the entire city, everybody in that area whether infected or not - stay where they are. The military personnel even barricade and put locks on their citizens' doors, preventing them from escaping or going out. Whereas, Vietnam send Military personnel to HCMC to help out by delivering food and other necessities to their people who are ordered to stay inside their houses.

The ways and the intentions in dealing with other much poorer countries are different between the two. Although Vietnam is not as rich and as big as China, Its willingness to cooperate, helping out those countries if the situation permitted is genuine. If you watch "QuangLinhVlogs", you would see this young man and his Vietnamese team have done a lot for poor Angolan people. From digging wells for clean water, building classrooms or schools for those poor village children of Angola, to showing villagers how to grow green vegetables. When Vietnamese United Nations Peacekeepers are sent to South Sudan to keep peace in that country, they are performing their peace-keeping duties beyond what they are asked for. Those Vietnamese peace-keeping officers donate their time after hours to teach South Sudanese children and help the locals how to grow vegetables and making clothes.

China is different as in the case of Costa Rica. To break the "ice", China sent at least two thousand of its workers to build a soccer stadium in Costa Rica for "free". One must know for a fact that when China is doing business with any country, it must gain more than losing. It's been setting up a "debt trap" by lending its money to other poorly developed countries around the world like Africa, exploiting resources, and destroying the environment for its own benefit. One of its recent victims is Sri Lanka.

These are just some examples of differences between Vietnamese and Chinese, correcting other foreigners' misconceptions about Vietnamese and Chinese as "one people".

Mobile Vaccine Station - Made by THACO, HCMC - Vietnam

Trucks specially built for mobile vaccine stations by THACO.

Due to the rapid spread of COVID in the city and other areas, a program has been initiated by THACO - a Vietnamese Auto Corporation, to accelerate the speed of the COVID vaccination process.

The company has negotiated with Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan for its technology transfer so it can start to put forward its idea, customizing and building its own mobile vaccine stations. THACO  built 126 customized vaccine mobile trucks - 63 for moving vaccine supplies and 63 for moving around the country, provinces, cities, districts, wards, and villages to vaccinate Vietnamese residents.

What is special about these trucks? Well, they have an automatic wing-roof and are equipped with chairs, tables, and systems to store and keep vaccines in proper condition.

With stairs walking up to the vaccine station where there are tables and chairs.

These customized special trucks have been manufactured in Chu Lai, Vietnam - and will also be exported to neighboring Asian countries.

Human Rights Policy... A CCP's Opportunity

As being noticed, for the past couple of decades - America's Human Rights policy toward its "partner" countries has been an issue that CCP has successfully exploited and excelled in the international arena.

When high-ranking diplomats from the United States demand or impose its human rights issue on its potential partners, China has been seeing this as an opportunity. Some governments from countries of South America, Africa, the Middle East areas, and Asia were not so happy about this issue when they were criticized for their human rights records. Certainly, when given a choice to choose rich and capable business partners - for example between China and the United States - they will be likely to choose China to do business with.

From Myanmar, Cambodia, to Vietnam, American human rights policy does not seem to work. In fact, it is a hindrance for the US to establishing good relationships with these countries and forcing them into China's hands. China sees this as an opportunity to take advantage of the situation where it can set out its 'debt trap' strategies to achieve its international dominance across the globe - the Silk Road.

If the United States and its Western allies continue this path of human rights, especially when America has its own domestic and racial problems which do not present it as a good role model in human rights, then other countries will not be convinced but irritated.

This is just an expression of my thought and comment. Have a wonderful day, everybody.

May Peace and Wisdom prevail.

To Keep Production Steady, Companies Must..., HCMC - Vietnam

Nanogen Biopharmaceutical, HCMC - Vietnam

The way I see it - quarantine, isolation, and detection strategies are no longer effective this time when dealing with the COVID Delta variant

WHO - World Health Organization official in VN

Companies and factories will soon face exhaustion and fatigue due to not having enough workers to keep up production to meet the demands of customers inside and outside of Vietnam. To avoid losing customers, the companies' management team should order to buy as many doses of Nanocovax from Nanogen as possible and immediately start to immunize their employees.

Nanocovax - considered most potential Vietnamese anti-COVID vaccine of Nanogen Biopharm.

With this being said, these companies will be able to maintain a steady production from mid-September till the end of 2021 and after that. Thus, I strongly recommend the Prime Minister of Health to seriously consider this matter.  I believed skilled workers and factory employees are the first ones to be vaccinated, and the Nanocovax vaccine is economically feasible for companies' limited budgets since they seem effective, safe, and cheap.

The longer the companies wait, the more they will suffer. Every day passing by - without immunization - is another blow to the company's budget and the overall economy.

About Me

My photo
As a Vietnamese American - graduated from college here in the US, I want to spend some time in Vietnam - a country I left when I was very young. Because of the war, I did not have any opportunity to travel much in Vietnam, except Saigon and Vung Tau back and forth during those years. Now is the time for me to learn more about my mother's country to appreciate its beauty, art, and culture.
